Overview

Foot-operated engage and disengage for a teleoperation rig. The operator’s hands stay on the leader device, so taking control and handing it back is a pedal press rather than a mode switch.

Why it matters
  • Required for clean mid-rollout intervention — the operator seizes control while the policy is driving, demonstrates the recovery, and hands back
  • Emits a control-attribution signal so every recorded timestep is labelled autonomous or human
  • Without that label, recovery data cannot be separated from autonomous data and is unusable for post-training

Part of the Base and Force Lab configurations on the Teleops Stations page. See data and policy pipeline for how intervention data is used.
