MANUFACTURING AUTOMATION

Repeat welds deserve a cell built around the part.

If the same joint returns across batches, show us the part, process, fixture and quality criteria. Knoxlabs can scope candidate robot and welding hardware, then identify what must be proven on your application.

A drawing or part photo is a good first step.

Illustrative torch path—not a qualified weld. We assess the part, fixture, process, safety, and quality requirements with you.

A USEFUL FIRST REVIEW

The part, fixture and weld process come before the robot.

We review repeatability and access before proposing hardware, and make the validation work visible in the scope.

01 · WELD

Joint and process

Material, thickness, joint access, process requirements and the power source already in use.

02 · CELL

Fixture and changeover

Part presentation, repeatability, torch clearance and how the operator loads and checks parts.

03 · PROOF

Test and responsibility

How weld quality will be evaluated, plus extraction, guarding, programming and commissioning ownership.

A cobot demonstration is not a qualified weld. Process feasibility and quality require application-specific testing.

FIRST REVIEW

Three things we ask about
Material and joint type
Weld process and power-source needs
Batch size and fixture plan

FIT CHECK

Is this weld ready to review?

A clear process and repeatable part make a useful starting point.

  • Part drawing or photo
  • Material and thickness
  • Joint access and weld process
  • Batch size and repetition
  • Fixture, safety, and quality owners

THE HARDWARE SCOPE

What belongs in the review

01

Robot and reach

Match work envelope, mounting, and access to the actual part and fixture.

02

Welding equipment

Review process requirements and compatibility with the selected power source and torch.

03

Fixturing

Part repeatability and changeover requirements shape the cell.

04

Safety and extraction

Guarding, fume handling, and operator workflow require site-specific planning.

05

Training and support

Clarify who programs, validates, commissions, and maintains the application.

HOW WE WORK

A practical path to a welding proposal.

We scope feasibility first; performance and weld quality require application testing.

01

Show the part

Share a photo or drawing, material, joint, process, and batch size.

02

Map the cell

Review reach, equipment, fixturing, safety, and integration ownership.

03

Define a test

Agree how the application will be evaluated before a final configuration is committed.

Discuss a welding task

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you reach out

Can a cobot be taught by hand?

Some configurations support hand-guided teaching. We confirm the exact hardware and workflow rather than assuming it fits every weld.

Will this replace a skilled welder?

The goal is to review repeatable tasks and operator workflow, not promise labor replacement.

Can you quote from a part photo?

A photo can start the discussion. A responsible quote may need drawings, process details, and a fixture review.

How can we help?

Tell us what you need and the right specialist will get back to you.

We reply within one business day, Monday to Friday. Often sooner.

How urgent is it?

Urgent means it is blocking an order, a deployment or an event.
