Overview
Turn your use case into an interactive XR application rather than adapting your team to an off-the-shelf experience. This quote-only Knoxlabs service covers the planning and development of custom virtual, augmented or mixed-reality experiences, with the target devices, technical approach and deliverables agreed before work begins.
Quote-only development service. Scope, feasibility, availability, deliverables and schedule are confirmed in a written proposal before work begins. Selecting this service is an inquiry, not an order.
What we can help build
- Interactive training and simulation: task walkthroughs, equipment familiarization, scenario practice and guided learning experiences, with learning objectives and assessment needs defined during discovery.
- Product demonstrations and spatial visualization: interactive presentations, design reviews, guided demonstrations and spatial interfaces using customer-supplied or separately commissioned assets.
- Connected applications: experiences that exchange agreed data with an existing system, content source or supported device interface, subject to API access and integration feasibility.
- Proofs of concept and pilot applications: a focused build that tests the important interaction or workflow before a larger deployment is commissioned.
How a development engagement works
- Discovery and requirements: clarify the users, problem, target hardware, operating environment, content sources, dependencies and definition of success.
- Experience and technical design: agree interaction flows, the application architecture, asset requirements, input methods and the first testable milestone.
- Prototype and iteration: develop the agreed functionality, review it against prioritized use cases and record decisions or changes before extending the scope.
- Pilot validation and handover: test against the agreed device and workflow matrix, document known limitations and define the build, documentation and support handover.
Technical decisions to define together
- Target headset or display models; standalone, tethered or browser delivery; supported operating-system versions; and whether the experience must work offline.
- Controller, hand, gaze or other input requirements where supported by the selected hardware; locomotion, comfort and accessibility requirements.
- Asset formats, visual fidelity, performance budgets, loading behavior and the test environments needed for a consistent experience.
- Authentication, permissions, data collection, analytics, storage and connections to third-party systems, including any organizational security or privacy requirements.
Potential deliverables
- A prioritized requirements brief, agreed scope and milestone acceptance criteria.
- Interaction flows, a prototype, application builds and a pilot test plan, as specified in the proposal.
- An issue and limitation record, deployment instructions and technical handover documentation appropriate to the agreed project.
- Source-code delivery, ownership, third-party license obligations, maintenance and ongoing support are defined in the written agreement; they are not assumed to be included in every engagement.
What to share with your inquiry
- The problem, intended users and outcome you want to demonstrate or measure.
- Target equipment and quantities, existing software or systems, available assets and any required interfaces.
- Your preferred timeline, budget range, internal technical contacts and any security, accessibility or procurement requirements.
Scope and commercial boundaries
Discovery, development, deployment and ongoing support are scoped as separate phases where appropriate. Internal specialists and delivery partners may be involved according to the agreed proposal. Hardware, third-party licenses, hosting, travel and specialist certification work are not included unless expressly stated. Pricing is provided by quotation; no standard package price or delivery date is implied.

FAQ
How is this different from XR integration?
Integration connects or configures existing applications and systems. Custom development creates or materially extends an application. A project can include both, with the responsibilities and deliverables separated in the proposal.
Can we start with a prototype rather than a full application?
Yes. A focused proof of concept or pilot can be scoped around the highest-priority workflow. Later stages are separate decisions rather than an automatic commitment to a full rollout.
Does the service support every headset or platform?
No universal compatibility is implied. Device models, operating-system versions, input methods and delivery platforms are reviewed and agreed before development.
Are hardware, 3D assets and software licenses included?
Not unless the proposal expressly includes them. Hardware, asset creation, content licensing, cloud services and third-party subscriptions are identified and quoted separately where required.
Will we receive source code and ongoing support?
Source-code delivery, ownership, repository access, license obligations, maintenance and support are agreed in writing before work starts. They are not included automatically.
How are price and timing determined?
Both follow discovery, technical feasibility and resource review. The quote sets the scope, milestones, acceptance criteria, dependencies and change process; selecting this service does not place an order.
